Ukiyoe Immersive Art Museum GINZA, produced by HITOHATA, INC., is scheduled to open in spring 2027 in Ginza, Tokyo.
The museum will be the first permanent facility established in Ginza, Tokyo, serving as the culmination of the Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition, which has attracted a cumulative total of over 500,000 visitors across nine cities in Japan and abroad.
Since its debut in Nagoya in the summer of 2023, the Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition has toured nine cities—five in Japan and four overseas, including Milan, Kagoshima, Tokyo, Taipei, Fukuoka, Kaohsiung, Osaka, and Paris—attracting over 500,000 visitors in total.
Having received significant acclaim both in Japan and abroad, the Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition is being reimagined as Ukiyoe Immersive Art Museum GINZA—a new hub for experiencing Japanese culture in Tokyo’s Ginza district, where visitors from around the world, including international travelers and high-end audiences, gather. By combining cutting-edge technology with traditional Japanese art, it will deliver an unprecedented immersive experience.
We warmly invite you to enjoy a dynamic digital art experience where timeless ukiyo-e masterpieces come to life, as this facility shares the profound beauty of Japan’s world-renowned ukiyo-e art with a global audience.

・Concept of the "Ukiyoe Immersive Art Museum GINZA"
Ukiyoe Immersive Art Museum GINZA is an immersive digital art museum that brings the world of ukiyo-e to life through eight themed, multi-sensory environments. Drawing on more than 300 works by world-renowned ukiyo-e masters such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Utamaro, Toshusai Sharaku, and Utagawa Kunisada, the museum uses cutting-edge 3DCG animation and projection mapping to create a new kind of digital art experience that can be enjoyed across generations and languages.
Featuring masterpieces from Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji by Katsushika Hokusai—including The Great Wave off in Kanagawa and Fine Wind, Clear Morning (also known as “Red Fuji”)—the exhibition allows visitors to fully appreciate the beauty of ukiyo-e through immersive visuals, spatial sound, and even carefully crafted scents that fill the space.
In addition, the museum displays original ukiyo-e prints produced during the Edo period, as well as later reproductions carved from woodblocks in and after the Meiji era. Visitors can explore the history of ukiyo-e, the culture of Edo, and the artists themselves through multilingual explanations available in Japanese, English, Chinese, and more.
The museum also features a shop offering original goods created in collaboration with long-established brands, as well as an on-site gallery where authentic ukiyo-e works are exhibited and available for purchase—allowing guests to experience Edo culture with all five senses and take a piece of it home.
Photography and video recording are permitted throughout the venue, inviting visitors to step into and capture the dreamlike world of ukiyo-e.
We warmly invite you to visit Ukiyoe Immersive Art Museum GINZA, a unique cultural experience where timeless ukiyo-e masterpieces come to life in dynamic ways, and where you can deepen your understanding of this rich art form through both immersive displays and authentic works.
