Fri, Nov 20 - Sun, Nov 22, 2026

Tsuruga Castle Park (Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima)

Tsuruga Castle Projection Mapping 2026, produced by HITOHATA, INC. , will be held from Fri, Nov 20 - Sun, Nov 22, 2026, at Tsuruga Castle Park in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. (Organizer: Tsuruga Castle Night Walk Executive Committee)

This event will project projection mapping videos onto the castle keep and stone walls of Tsuruga Castle, one of the most beautiful and renowned castles in Japan. The videos will feature digital animations inspired by traditional Aizu culture, including Aizu lacquerware, Aizu painted candles, and Aizu cotton, as well as landscape paintings depicting Aizu and digital artwork featuring a profusion of blooming flowers symbolizing Tsuruga Castle as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot.

In addition, a sea of clouds effect will be created in synchronization with the projection mapping, creating a fantastical nighttime scene of Tsuruga Castle floating in the mist.

Admission to the projection mapping is free, and advance registration is not required.

Last year’s “Tsuruga Castle Projection Mapping 2025” attracted approximately 20,000 visitors over three days and received a great deal of attention. In response to its popularity, this year’s event will be held with an even more extensive program.

Please enjoy the spectacular and magnificent projection mapping that brings color to Tsuruga Castle, the symbol of Aizuwakamatsu City.

[Visitor Guidelines]

  • Please exercise caution when walking around the venue, as the event takes place at night.

  • If taking photos or videos, please refrain from using flash photography, drones, or tripods for extended periods of time from the front row during crowded periods. The continuous shutter sound may disturb other visitors, so please avoid using continuous shooting when the venue is crowded or use your camera’s silent shooting function. Due to the fast-moving visuals, video recording is recommended when using a smartphone.

  • When using a tripod, the maximum height of the camera is limited to the height of the photographer’s head, regardless of the viewing location. (This does not apply to official event photographers.) Please also refrain from using ladders or other equipment that does not have its feet in contact with the ground while taking photos or videos.
