Sat, Nov 1, 2025
– Long-Term Screening Opens
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No.1
HITOHATA, INC will produce “TOKYO Night & Light City of Water: Edo Outer Moat,” which will be screened from Saturday, November 1, 2025.
(Organized by: Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Projection Mapping Executive Committee)
“TOKYO Night & Light” is a year-round projection mapping program that expresses diverse art through light and sound on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1—one of Tokyo’s most iconic landmarks—to create a new tourist attraction that illuminates the nights of Tokyo.
It has been recognized by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ as the “Largest permanent display of projection mapping on a building.”
“City of Water: Edo Outer Moat” was created as part of the “Outer Moat Purification Project,” which aims to revive Tokyo as the “City of Water.”
This approximately four-minute projection mapping piece depicts the merging of the memories of Edo—the city of water—and the vision of a future metropolis, as well as waterfalls and waterfront scenes seen in Ukiyo-e, and an enchanting world where flowers of the four seasons bloom along clear flowing waters.
Admission is free, and no advance reservation is required.
Please enjoy this magnificent art experience where city and nature, tradition and innovation resonate together.
