"Kawabun Digital Art Kaiseki, a nationally registered tangible cultural property" produced by HITOHATA,INC. will be held on Wednesday, October 27 and Thursday, October 28, 2021 (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture).
This event is a complete reservation-based program that combines kaiseki cuisine and table projection mapping, which is the first attempt at Kawabun, the oldest restaurant in Nagoya with a history of 400 years.
Kawabun is the oldest active long-established restaurant in Nagoya, which was founded around the time of the construction of Nagoya Castle in the Edo period. In addition to the visit, a dinner party hosted by the Foreign Minister of the "G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers' Meeting" was held in November 2019. Buildings such as the main building of the restaurant are nationally registered tangible cultural properties.
In this program, you can enjoy the production of digital art that matches the dishes and tables while tasting the kaiseki cuisine of Kawabun (12 dishes in total). In addition, in collaboration with "Soga Shohaku's fantasy here," which is being held at the Aichi Museum of Art, a digital art production with Soga Shohaku's work as a motif, and a special exhibition of Soga Shohaku's hanging scroll owned by Kawabun will also be released. Kawabun is the oldest long-established restaurant in Nagoya, and was founded as a fish shop by Kawachiya Bunzaemon when the castle was built in the Edo period. Eventually, it was called "Kawabun of Gei" as a caterer and restaurant of the Owari-Tokugawa family, and later became the best geisha in Nagoya. Domestic and foreign key figures such as the Prime Minister and former French President Mitterrand visited. In November 2019, a dinner hosted by the Foreign Minister of the "G20 Aichi-Nagoya Foreign Ministers' Meeting" was also held.
The theme of digital content produced by the digital artist group HITOHATA,INC. is "Regenerate Japan".
The new coronavirus has lost the opportunity to share and inherit the wonderful cultural arts and traditions that Japan has grown and refined over the years, and is on the verge of decline.
HITOHATA,INC. creates content with local cultural arts and traditions as a motif, and digital entertainment that is inspired by it and boldly sublimated with new interpretations and aesthetics, creating vitality in Japan and becoming a cultural arts nation and aim to revitalize Japan.
