


The Asuka III Original Immersive Arts program “Deep Ocean”, produced by HITOHATA,INC. is now screening in a long-running engagement from 23 July 2025 (Wednesday).
Asuka III Original Immersive Arts is an entertainment program now showing at the Lumiere Theatre aboard Asuka III, a newly built cruise ship by NYK CRUISES CO., LTD. went into service on 20 July 2025, using the latest digital technology, It is a new type of immersive arts program that uses state-of-the-art digital technology to weave a story through three-dimensional digital art images on holographic screens and LED screens.
Deep Ocean is an original film that pays homage to Jules Verne's science fiction novel “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, fantastically depicting the mysterious ocean world of deep seas, coral reefs and ancient undersea ruins, and the mysterious creatures that live there, inviting the viewer into a story of mysterious exploration.

Asuka III is a newly built cruise ship by NYK CRUISES CO., LTD., went into service on 20 July 2025.
The ship's home port is Yokohama, and with a gross tonnage of 52,265 GT, Asuka III is the largest passenger ship of Japanese registry.
The ship is 230 m long and 29.8 m wide, with a total of 381 passenger cabins and a capacity for 740 passengers.
Asuka III will offer the hospitality and quality of service that Asuka Cruises has cultivated on its Japanese vessels, while pursuing services that will enable the next generation to enjoy the freedom they seek.
In addition, while conveying the splendour of Japanese culture throughout the cruise, Asuka III will connect Japanese culture on board, adorned with a variety of art and craft works by artists who support Japanese art and culture.

National Treasure Matsumoto Castle Projection Mapping 2024-2025
Projection mapping images of ukiyo-e, traditional crafts, flowers, etc. will be projected onto Matsumoto Castle, a national treasure representing Japan. A light art production including a fusion of projection mapping and laser mapping and interactive content was performed.

Saiku Takigi Noh Theater Performance × Digital Art 2024
The Noh play ‘Nomiya’ and the Kyogen play ‘Boshibari’ will be performed on a special stage in the Saiku Heian no Mori, located on the site of the national historic site of Saiku, with projection mapping images of the autumn scenery and other scenes that appear in ‘Nomiya’.
