HITOHATA, INC. produced “Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition AOMORI,” which was held from Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, at The To-o Nippo Shinmachi Building New’s Hall (Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture).

“Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition” is an immersive digital art museum where visitors can experience the world of Ukiyo-e through multiple three-dimensional visual spaces. More than 300 works by world-renowned Ukiyo-e masters such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Utamaro, Toshusai Sharaku, and Utagawa Kunisada were brought to life as graphical digital art using 3DCG animation and projection mapping, creating an experience that could be enjoyed by both adults and children.

As a limited-time immersive exhibition in which masterpieces of Ukiyo-e that continue to captivate audiences across generations and around the world came dynamically to life, the exhibition welcomed more than 45,000 visitors during its run.

[Exhibition Content]

This immersive digital art museum presented the world of ukiyo-e through multiple three-dimensional projection spaces, created using 3DCG animation and projection mapping, and based on over 300 works by leading ukiyo-e artists including Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Utamaro, Toshusai Sharaku, and Utagawa Kunisada.

In addition to the digital installations, the exhibition also featured original ukiyo-e prints from the Edo period and high-quality reproductions, accompanied by explanations of the history of ukiyo-e, Edo-period culture, and the artists themselves.

Alongside an in-depth exploration of the artistic value of ukiyo-e, the exhibition also offered easy-to-understand displays introducing everyday life, entertainment, and culture of the Edo period.
