HITOHATA,INC. produced “Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition FUKUOKA,” which was held from Sat, Jun 28, 2025, to Sun, Aug 17, 2025 at JR Kyushu Hall, JR Hakata City 9F (1-1 Hakata-eki Chuo-gai, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture) in Fukuoka, Japan. The event was organized by the Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition FUKUOKA Executive Committee (JR Hakata City, KBC, S’s Live, HITOHATA, TV Aichi).

“Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition” is an immersive, experiential digital art museum based on more than 300 works by world-renowned ukiyo-e artists such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Utamaro, Toshusai Sharaku, and Utagawa Kunisada. Rendered as graphical digital artworks through 3DCG animation and projection mapping, they invited visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in the world of ukiyo-e across nine three-dimensional visual spaces.

Photography and video recording were permitted throughout the venue, so visitors were free to capture the fantastical world of ukiyo-e as they explored it.

*The Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition received the Award of Excellence in the Project Category at the CJPF Awards 2025, organized by the Cool Japan Public-Private Partnership Platform (secretariat: Intellectual Property Strategy Promotion Office, Cabinet Office of Japan). It also won Gold in the “Experiential & Immersive – Exhibition Experience” category at the MUSE Creative Awards 2026, an international creative awards program organized by the International Awards Associate (IAA).

[About]

Alongside the digital installations, celebrated ukiyo-e prints made during the Edo period and modern reproductions were displayed, with commentary on the history of ukiyo-e, the culture of Edo, and the artists themselves.

“Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition FUKUOKA” also featured a special section devoted to ukiyo-e with a particular connection to Fukuoka. Beyond exploring the artistic value of ukiyo-e, the displays offered an accessible look at everyday life and entertainment in the Edo period.

*The KOOTEN Set Ticket combined one adult admission ticket with a 1,000 yen KOOTEN meal voucher.
