“National Treasure Matsumoto Castle Tower Projection Mapping 2023-2024” produced by HITOHATA,INC. in collaboration with Epson Sales Co., Ltd. and Seiko Epson Co., Ltd. was held from Saturday, December 16, 2023 to February 18, 2024 ( The event was held until Wednesday at Matsumoto Castle Park (Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture). (Sponsor: Castle Town Matsumoto Festa Organizing Committee)
One of the five existing National Treasure towers and the oldest of the five-story, six-story castle towers, folding screen paintings depicting Kazumasa Ishikawa, the castle lord who built the magnificent castle tower, are displayed on the tower and stone walls of Matsumoto Castle. Dynamic and fantastic projection mapping images were projected, including digital animation, digital art with motifs of snowflakes and ice, and hundreds of flowers blooming beautifully in the Northern Alps.
Admission was free and no advance registration was required.
During the exhibition period: <Period 1> December 16th (Sat) - January 7th, 2024 (Sunday), <Period 2> January 8th (Monday) - January 26th (Friday), <Period 3> January 27th (Sat) - February 14th (Wed), you can enjoy projection mapping performances with different themes.
In addition, due to popular demand, we had extended the exhibition period, and from February 16th (Friday) to February 18th (Sunday), you could enjoy all of the projection mapping performances from the first to third periods.

*The service will be suspended on February 15th (Thursday) due to content replacement.
*Projections will be held even in the event of rain, but may be temporarily suspended or cancelled in the event of inclement weather.

Train: 20 min. walk from JR Matsumoto Sta.
Bus: Take Utsukushi-ga-hara Onsen Line, Asama Line, Okada Line, or Alps Park Line from JR Matsumoto Station, and get off at Matsumoto Castle or City Hall.
Car: Approx. 20 minutes by car from the Matsumoto IC of the Nagano Expressway
*Please use the Matsumoto Municipal Matsumoto Castle Otemon Parking Lot (multi-story) (7:30am-10:30pm, 150 yen/30 min. for regular cars, approx. 8 min. walk to Matsumoto Castle).

[Requests to visitors]
・Please refrain from taking photos or videos with flash, drones, or using a tripod for long periods of time in the front rows during busy times. Also, please refrain from taking continuous shots or use the silent shooting function during crowded times, as the shutter sound of continuous shots may disturb people around you. We recommend that you use a smartphone to take video because of the fast-moving nature of the images.
・When using a tripod, the camera position is limited to the height of the photographer's head regardless of the viewing location (except for filming by official recording staff). Please refrain from using a stepladder or any other object that does not allow the photographer's feet to touch the ground.
・Please be considerate of others in the area.
・Please be aware that you may be photographed or edited by staff members, and that you may be filmed for media coverage. Please understand this in advance.
・Wearing a mask is at the discretion of the individual.
・Please refrain from coming to the event if you have a fever, cough, sore throat, or other symptoms.
