


"National Historic Site Saiku Heian Emaki Projection Mapping 2022" produced by HITOHATA,INC. was held at Saiku Heian no Mori (Meiwa-machi, Taki County, Mie Prefecture) from November 3th (Thu) to 5th (Sat), 2022. The event was hosted by Meiwa Kanko Shosha (Meiwa Tourism and Trading Company).
This event was held in the main hall, east side hall, and west side hall of the Saiku Heian no Mori, which is located at the site of the Saiku Palace, a national historic site, where the Saio lived in the past.
In addition, "Saiku Historical Museum Digital Art Exhibition - Miyabi of Saiku and the Dynasties" was held at the Saiku Historical Museum at the same time. Organized by the Saiku Historical Museum. Digital artworks featuring motifs from the museum's collections, such as "The Tale of Ise" and "Saio Gunko Emaki" was exhibited in the entrance hall of the Saiku Historical Museum.

A dynamic and fantastical projection mapping transforms the keep and stone walls of Matsumoto Castle, a National Treasure, featuring ukiyo-e prints depicting the merchant city of Matsumoto, ornate folding screens, traditional local crafts, and vibrant cherry blossoms and alpine flowers of the Northern Alps.

Projection mapping using digital art inspired by motifs such as phoenixes, Toyama’s traditional crafts, and tulips—the prefectural flower of Toyama—is projected onto Toyama Castle, a symbol of Toyama City and a nationally registered tangible cultural property.

National Historic Site Saiku Heian Emaki Projection Mapping 2024
Projection mapping images featuring cultural and artistic motifs associated with Saiku, such as the Tale of Genji picture scroll, Tale of Genji shikishi pasting folding screen and Juni-hitoe, are projected in the Shoden, East Side Hall and West Side Hall of the Saiku Heian no Mori at the Saiku National Historical Site, the main programme of the Re-Ku Bunka Art Festival to be held in early 2024.
