HITOHATA,INC. and the University of the Republic of San Marino jointly produced "UNESCO World Heritage Site: Historic Center of San Marino and Mount Titano Palazzo Pubblico Projection Mapping" on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Palazzo Pubblico (Government Building) in Republic of San Marino.

It was organized by ISSHO-NI San Marino & Japan Cultural Association.

Projection mapping images featuring Japanese culture and traditions were projected onto Palazzo Pubblico, a representative building of the historic city center of San Marino, which is a component of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Historic Center of San Marino and Mount Titano".

The Republic of San Marino is the oldest existing republic in the world, surrounded by Italy on all four sides, with a population of about 30,000. The historic center of San Marino is registered as a World Heritage Site as "Historic Center of San Marino and Mount Titano".

"Palazzo Pubblico" is a neo-Gothic palace built between 1884 and 1894 in the heart of the historic center, and is an active government building that houses the Grand Council chambers and government buildings.

ASAKUSA CULTURE & LIGHTS 2025

The first ever grand projection mapping event at Sensoji Temple was held, along with special daytime and nighttime viewings of the scenic Denpoin Garden and Emadou Hall, which are normally closed to the public, for the first time in seven years. Over 150,000 people visited the projection mapping over the five days.

Projection mapping images featuring cultural and artistic motifs associated with Saiku, such as the Tale of Genji picture scroll, Tale of Genji shikishi pasting folding screen and Juni-hitoe, are projected in the Shoden, East Side Hall and West Side Hall of the Saiku Heian no Mori at the Saiku National Historical Site, the main programme of the Re-Ku Bunka Art Festival to be held in early 2024.
