Nagoya Kanko Hotel Flower and Digital Art Installation - Spring -, produced by HITOHATA,INC., was exhibited at the Nagoya Kanko Hotel (Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture) from 27 Feb (Thursday) to 2 Apr (Wednesday) 2025.
The exhibition was a digital art installation work in collaboration with a cherry blossom objet d'art combining a 40-year-old mountain-harvested cherry blossom tree and artificial flower petals in the main lobby of the Nagoya Kanko Hotel, custom-made large-format Japanese paper dyed by a Japanese paper craftsman in the background and projection mapping images.

[Title] Nagoya Kanko Hotel: Flowers and Digital Art Installation - Spring
[Exhibition Period] Thursday 27 February - Friday 4 April 2025
[Venue] Main lobby, Nagoya Kanko Hotel (19-30, Nishiki 1-chome, Naka-ku, Nagoya)
The cherry blossom object at the heart of this exhibition is composed of a 40-year-old mountain-grown cherry tree and artificial flower petals.
The cherry trees will bloom during the exhibition period, allowing visitors to experience the various expressions of cherry blossoms over time.
After the exhibition, the cherry trees from the mountains will be replanted in a different location, making this a sustainable work of art that spins out its life.
The background of the cherry trees is made of custom-made large-format washi paper dyed by a washi craftsman.
A projection mapping image, meticulously created to match the objects, is projected onto the background, giving the cherry blossoms a richly coloured and shimmering appearance.
The cherry blossoms are even more magical when viewed at night.
We hope that everyone who visits the exhibition will feel the uplift of spring, a time of budding hope.
