When Tokugawa Ieyasu, who was defeated in the Battle of Okehazama, escaped and tried to harm himself, he was told by the chief priest to "aim for the world of Taihei" and was discouraged. It is a temple that played a major historical role.
The straight line of about 3km connecting Okazaki Castle and Daijuji Temple starting from the Sanmon and Somon gates built by the 3rd Shogun Iemitsu is called "Vista Line" and has been protected for about 370 years as a historical view.
At the Bodaiji Temple of the Matsudaira family and the Tokugawa shogunate, the honorary foolish superior was opened by the 4th generation Chichu in 1475.
The tomb of the 8th generation of Matsudaira, the painting of Reizei Tamechika, an important cultural property of the country, the mortuary tablets of successive generals, and the wooden statue of Ieyasu at the age of 73 are enshrined.
In addition, the Tahoto, an important cultural property of Japan, was erected by Ieyasu's grandfather, Kiyoyasu Matsudaira, in 1535.
This double tower, with one layer square and two layers circular, shows the beautiful style of the late Muromachi period with sculptural patterns such as frogs and fist noses.
