The Battle of Kawanakajima 3D Picture Scroll/VR/AR" produced by HITOHATA,INC. (Project Entity: Nagano City Planning: Dentsu Inc. (Location: Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture))

The "Battle of Kawanakajima 3D Picture Scroll/VR/AR" was produced as one of the "Battle of Kawanakajima" tourism digital contents utilizing cultural assets owned by Nagano City for the purpose of attracting visitors and promoting excursions to the old battlefield of Kawanakajima and the surrounding Matsudai area. The work is based on the digital archives of cultural assets owned by the Nagano City Museum, such as the "Great Battle of Kawanakajima," "24 Generals Takeda," and "18 Generals Uesugi," and is a video work/VR content/AR content created as a dynamic digital animation with a sense of movement using 3DCG.

The production was funded by the Digital Rural City National Concept Promotion Grant.

The "Battle of Kawanakajima 3D Picture Scroll" is available on YouTube, the Nagano City Museum's "Battle of Kawanakajima Exhibition Room" (permanent installation), and the Nagano City "Battle of Kawanakajima General Site," and a digest version will be shown on digital signage at JR Nagano Station.

The "Battle of Kawanakajima 3D Picture Scroll VR" can be experienced at the dedicated "Battle of Kawanakajima 3D Picture Scroll VR" booth at the Nagano City Museum.

The "Battle of Kawanakajima 3D Picture Scroll AR" can be experienced at the Kawanakajima Ancient Battlefield Historical Park and Hachiman Shrine.

The "Battle of Kawanakajima" was fought between Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture and lasted 12 years and 5 times. The fourth battle, in 1561, took place in the area of Kawanakajima between the Chikuma and Saikawa Rivers, and was a fierce battle that has left many legends, including the one-on-one struggle between Shingen and Kenshin.
