


Okazaki Machinaka AR Walking’, an Aichi Prefecture Smart City Model Project produced by HITOHATA,INC. was implemented from 1 December 2023 (Friday) to 22 March 2024 (Friday).
The Okazaki Machinaka AR Walking project allows visitors to experience augmented reality (AR) content by reading a QR code with their smartphone camera and holding the camera over a scene (AR marker) in the city of Okazaki. The project allows visitors to experience different AR contents such as digital animation of the ukiyoe print ‘Utagawa Hiroshige: The Fifty-three Stages of the Tokaido Highway, Okazaki: Yabayakino Bridge’ and digital animation of the legend of the ascending dragon at five spots in the city, including the Yahagi Bridge monument, the Kagoda Somon corner of Kagoda Park, the well of Tokugawa Ieyasu's birthplace in Okazaki Park, and others.
This project was carried out as a demonstration experiment for the Aichi Prefecture Smart City Model Project.

[Contents] By reading the QR code with a smartphone camera and holding the camera over a scene in the city of Okazaki (AR marker), visitors can experience augmented reality (AR) contents. No app download is required, and you can experience different contents at five spots in the city.

This is a project in which Aichi Prefecture commissions proposed municipalities to implement projects that can serve as models for smart city initiatives and horizontally deploys the results throughout Aichi Prefecture by holding results reporting meetings, etc. The project has been implemented since fiscal year 2022.
In FY2023, seven cities and towns were selected: Okazaki, Kariya, Nisshin, Koda, Kasugai, Gamagori and Obu.

Takada Honzan Senjuji National Treasure Mieido and National Treasure Nyoraido Cultural Property AR
This project allows visitors to interactively view high-resolution 3D models of Senjuji's valuable cultural assets using a smartphone. Five types of AR content are available for viewing: the decorative ‘phoenix’, ‘dragon’ and ‘kylin’ in the ranma in the National Treasure Mieido Hall, the wooden seated statue of Shinran Shonin and the sculpture ‘phoenix’ in the National Treasure Nyoraido Hall.

Okazaki Castle 1645 VR
A 3DCG reconstruction of Okazaki Castle, the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu, around 1645, when it was one of the largest castles in Japan in the early modern period, has been revived as VR content.
