About "Asuka III Original Performing Arts"

"Asuka III Original Performing Arts" is an entertainment programme performed in the Lumiere Theatre, the entertainment space on Asuka III, the newly built cruise ship of NYK Cruises Co., Ltd. entering service on 20 July 2025. Making full use of cutting-edge digital technology, it is a new kind of immersive performing art in which dance performances are fused with fantastical, dynamic digital art images on holographic screens and LED screens.

"KAGUYA" is an original work that pays homage to Taketori Monogatari (The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter), which was established in the Heian period and is said to be the oldest surviving Japanese tale. It weaves a fantastical story through dance and the emotional beauty unique to Japan — the moon, bamboo groves, the Milky Way and the world of folding-screen paintings.

"MYSTERIO" is an original work themed on the mysterious and romantic ancient civilisations of Mexico, weaving a mysterious story through captivating culture and dance — the sun, the jungle, animals in primary colours and prayers to the gods.

She is 230.2 m long and 29.8 m wide, and is planned to have 385 guest rooms and a passenger capacity of 740.
