“Meikyo Shisui” brings together top martial artists for lively talk and demonstrations of secret techniques. This time the theme is Sekigahara, the battle that decided the fate of the nation, examined from the perspective of the martial arts by the schools that represented the pinnacle of martial arts at the time.

From the era of deadly armored swordsmanship aimed at “defeating the enemy” in the Warring States period to the era of “katsujinken” (the life-giving sword), which seeks to face oneself rather than the enemy and to perfect oneself as a human being, the program spotlights the Battle of Sekigahara as a “turning point for the martial arts.” Masters of Hozoin-ryu Takada-ha sojutsu, the Koyo-ryu heiho of the Sanada ninja Agatsuma lineage, Taisha-ryu, Ono-ha Itto-ryu and Yagyu Shinkage-ryu gather in the studio to compete with their exquisite techniques. Appearing are Junichi Okada, Kendo Kobayashi, Marika Matsumoto, Hirohisa Ota (Jungle Pocket) and others.
